Brand Strategist

We are a dynamic multi-cultural design studio with locations in Chicago, IL, and Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. The Brand Strategist position will be located in our Mérida studio.

Position Overview:

The Brand Strategist will lead our brand positioning and strategic initiatives for luxury hospitality clients and plays a pivotal role in shaping the identity and narrative of our brand design projects, ensuring that each experience reflects our client's brand essence while resonating with their target audience. This role requires an analytical thinker with deep market insights and the ability to translate complex strategic concepts into actionable brand strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Strategic Brand Development: Collaborate with clients to understand their brand vision, values, and objectives. Translate these insights into compelling brand strategies that guide the design process from concept to execution.

  • Creative Direction: Lead the design team to generate unique ideas and concepts. Provide creative direction and feedback to the team, fostering a culture of creativity, agility and excellence.

  • Brand Identity Creation: Develop comprehensive brand identities, including logos, color palettes, typography, and visual assets. Ensure consistency across all touchpoints, from physical spaces to digital platforms.

  • Experience Design Integration: Work closely with our interior design team to integrate brand elements seamlessly into the physical environment. Curate sensory experiences that evoke emotion and leave a lasting impression on guests.

  • Client Collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and partner throughout the design process. Present concepts and proposals in a compelling and persuasive manner, effectively communicating the value of our design solutions.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and inspire team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Provide guidance on project priorities, deadlines, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Market & Trend Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and cultural shifts that impact brand and hospitality design. Incorporate relevant insights into our design approach, keeping our projects at the forefront of innovation.


Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of brand identity projects and integrated design solutions.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Figma.

  • Strategic mindset with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

  • Flexibility to travel as needed for client meetings and project installations.

  • Skills: creative copywriting, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop

Experience Level:

7-10 years in brand design, preferably within the lifestyle and luxury hospitality sector.

Location:  

Must be located in Merida, Yucatán, Mexico, or willing to relocate.
