Brand Designer

We are a dynamic multi-cultural design studio with locations in Chicago, IL, and Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. The Brand Designer position will be located in our Mérida studio.
Position Overview
The Brand Designer will execute high-quality visual design work, performing tasks in collaboration with the Brand Studio Lead and Brand Design Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement visual brand systems across all touchpoints — logos, wordmarks, color palettes, typography, and identity applications — ensuring cohesion from concept through final execution
Collaborate closely with the Brand Design Lead to develop and refine creative concepts, translating direction into compelling executions across color worlds, illustration, texture, and motion
Conduct visual and project research — including moodboards, location and cultural context, brand history, and competitive landscape — to inform and present creative direction internally
Prepare and present design work clearly, incorporating feedback from leads and clients through revision cycles with accuracy and consistency
Develop comprehensive brand guidelines and brand books, documenting identity systems, usage standards, and application rules for client use
Design digital assets, motion graphics, and animated identity elements across social, web, and email touchpoints, and develop client-ready template toolkits and editable collateral systems to support independent brand management
Manage print production and final file delivery, preparing assets to specification — including color profiles, bleed requirements, and file structure — and coordinating with print and fabrication vendors
Actively contribute ideas and visual references in brainstorming sessions, advancing creative concepts across project phases
Required Qualifications
Intermediate level of professional graphic design experience
High-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects)
Strong portfolio demonstrating branding work and visual design excellence
Experience working with brand guidelines and maintaining visual consistency
Knowledge of print production processes and digital asset preparation
A strong understanding of brand editorial language
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
Experience working on hospitality or luxury brand projects
Experience with animation, motion graphics, or web design
Previous agency or in-house brand team experience
Familiarity with project management tools and design workflow systems
