Design Internship

Curioso always welcomes team-oriented and highly-motivated individuals to join our team for seasonal INTERNSHIPS. The ideal internship candidate is excited to be part of a unique and collaborative environment. This individual will be an important part of our integrated design process and will engage in a well-rounded, seasonal role that provides exposure to all elements of the interior design process. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to progressively hold more responsibility for assignments for a variety of design projects.

POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Visit and assist with local site/construction site visits

  • Perform site measurement verifications; finish mock-up approvals on projects in various phases of construction

  • Assist with InDesign files (labeling, proofreading, image spacing, and final touches)

  • Assist with Revit/ utoCAD plans and construction documentation 

  • Sit elbow to elbow with our Business Development & Marketing teams on pursuit planning, preparing for an in-office client meeting, or sharing ideas on what the future of design services looks like

  • Assist with vendor coordination and communication (ordering samples/v.e. options and product questions or inquiries)

  • Modeling of custom millwork, casegood, and upholstered pieces for internal study.

  • Work alongside our lead designers to tease through the details of custom hospitality pieces

  • Assist in building, curating, and maintaining a robust physical/digital library of reference resources for designers to utilize

  • Assist with material selection and mood board composition for various project types

  • Build technical templates and tools to assist in the design process

  • Archive past projects in an organized fashion for ease of future reference

  • Learn to use primary design tools such as, REVIT, Enscape and proprietary design tools and methods

  • Actively participate in project, site meetings and presentations

  • Lead new vendor/new product research

* Project assignments may vary week to week and could range from small office renovations to large multidisciplinary new construction projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strengths in conceptual design, technical excellence, and communication skills are desired

  • A degree from CIDA accredited Interior Design Program is encouraged

  • 1+ years of experience AutoCAD & Revit

  • A highly motivated designer seeking responsibility for challenging projects in a creative work environment

Curioso Internships are available in Chicago, IL & Mérida, Mexico.
